1. Policy Statement

EfficientGrids OÜ is committed to conducting its activities in a manner that ensures the health and safety of all persons, protection of the environment, and the delivery of high-quality professional engineering services to its clients.

The company provides specialist engineering consultancy services, primarily office-based and remote with no routine attendance at client premises or operational sites.

Management systems and controls are implemented in a manner proportionate to the nature, scale, and risk profile of the business, and are subject to periodic review and continuous improvement.

2. Health & Safety Management

EfficientGrids is committed to:

  • Providing a safe and healthy working environment for all persons affected by its activities

  • Complying with all applicable health and safety legislation and client-specific requirements

  • Identifying hazards and managing risks associated with its activities

Health and safety arrangements include:

  • Risk assessments appropriate to office-based and remote professional work

  • Safe systems of work for computer-based activities, ergonomics, and travel

  • Reporting and recording of accidents, incidents, and near misses where applicable

3. Environmental Management

EfficientGrids recognises its responsibility to minimise environmental impact and is committed to:

  • Complying with applicable environmental legislation and client requirements

  • Preventing pollution and minimising waste

  • Reducing environmental impact where reasonably practicable

Given the nature of the business, environmental controls focus on:

  • Minimising travel and encouraging remote working where feasible

  • Efficient use of energy and digital systems

  • Avoidance of unnecessary printing and physical documentation

  • Responsible disposal of any business waste

  • Where practicable, business activities are undertaken from a home office environment that utilises on-site renewable energy generation, alongside other measures to minimise energy use.

Environmental performance is reviewed periodically, and opportunities for improvement are identified as part of normal business planning.

EfficientGrids is committed to delivering accurate, reliable, and professional engineering services that meet client requirements and contractual obligations.

Quality assurance arrangements include:

  • Clear definition of scope, assumptions, and deliverables

  • Use of recognised engineering standards and industry best practice

  • Structured checking and review of deliverables prior to issue

  • Version control and secure document management

  • Client feedback considered as part of continuous improvement

  • Consideration of safety, operability, and system security implications as part of engineering recommendations.

All work is undertaken by a suitably qualified and experienced engineer, and professional competence is maintained through ongoing learning and industry engagement.

5. Continuous Improvement & Future Certification

EfficientGrids operates management systems aligned with the principles of:

  • ISO 9001 (Quality Management)

  • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)

  • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)

While formal third-party certification is not currently held, the company intends to continue developing its management systems in line with recognised international standards, and will consider certification where it is proportionate to business needs and client requirements.

6. Responsibilities & Review

Overall responsibility for this policy and its implementation rests with the Managing Director.

This policy is:

  • Communicated to relevant parties

  • Made available to clients and stakeholders upon request

  • Reviewed at least annually, or following significant business or regulatory change

2 Scope

This policy applies to all professional activities carried out by EfficientGrids OÜ. The company currently operates as a one-person professional consultancy and applies this policy proportionately to its size and nature.
